Ad blocking is software designed to stop adverts from showing on websites and videos. While it can enhance your browsing experience, it also stops ITVX from working as it should. 

ITVX relies on ad revenue so that we can provide free content and invest in producing great new shows.

To watch ITVX, you'll need to disable any ad blocking software you have installed. You can find out how to identify and disable common ad blockers on popular browsers below. Another option for desktop users is to use a different web browser. For mobile viewing, the ITVX app is recommended and can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.

How do I know if I have ad blocking software installed?

If ITVX videos aren’t loading, it may be because you have ad blocking software installed. 

Most ad blockers are browser extensions, and you can check whether you have one installed by following these steps:

Google Chrome

Click on the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of the browser, then select 'Extensions > Manage Extensions'.

Mozilla Firefox

Click the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner, then navigate to 'Add-ons and themes > Extensions'.

Opera

Click the Box icon in the top-right, then go to 'Manage Extensions'.

Brave

Brave has built-in ad-blocking functionality, click the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner 'Settings > Shields'.

How do I disable ad blockers?

Below are instructions for disabling the three most common ad blockers: uBlock Origin, Adblock Plus, and AdGuard. 

uBlock Origin

Here’s how to disable uBlock Origin:

In Google Chrome / Firefox / Opera:

1. Click on the uBlock Origin icon (a red shield) in the top-right corner of your browser.
2. A drop-down menu will appear. Click the blue power button to turn off uBlock Origin for the current site (ITVX).
3. Refresh the ITVX page, and your content should now load.

In Brave:

1. Brave uses a built-in ad blocker similar to uBlock Origin. To disable it, click on the Brave icon (a lion) in the top-right corner.
2. Toggle 'Shields are UP' for www.itv.com and refresh the page.

Adblock Plus

Here’s how to disable Adblock Plus:

In Google Chrome / Firefox / Opera:

1. Find the Adblock Plus icon (a red stop sign with "ABP") in your browser toolbar.
2. Click the icon and choose 'Disable on this site' to pause ad-blocking for ITVX.
3. Refresh the page to resume watching your show.

In Brave:

Follow the same steps for disabling Brave's Shields as outlined under uBlock Origin.

AdGuard

AdGuard blocks ads and tracking scripts. Here's how to turn it off:

In Google Chrome / Firefox / Opera:

1. Click the AdGuard icon (a green shield) in the top-right corner.
2. Toggle 'Protection on this website' off to allow ads on ITVX.
3. Refresh the page to continue streaming.

In Brave:

Follow the same steps for disabling Brave's Shields as outlined under uBlock Origin.

How to disable ad blockers from browser settings

If you can’t find the ad blocker in your toolbar, you can also disable it through your browser's extension or add-on settings:

In Google Chrome:

1. Go to the menu (three dots) > More Tools > Extensions.
2. Find the ad blocker (eg uBlock Origin, Adblock Plus, AdGuard) and toggle it off.

In Mozilla Firefox:

1. Open the menu (three lines) > Add-ons and Themes > Extensions.
2. Find the ad blocker and disable it.

In Opera:

1. Click the Opera icon > Extensions.
2. Find the ad blocker and toggle it off.

In Brave:

1. Navigate to Setting > Shields
2. Adjust the ad-blocking settings for ITVX.
